Easter is More Than Inspiration—It’s an Invitation
Easter is More Than Inspiration—It’s an Invitation
Romans 6:1–11 | John 5 & John 11
At LEV Church, we love Easter—not just for the traditions, family moments, and food (though let’s be honest, food is a pretty great tradition)—but because Easter points to the deepest truth of our faith: that Jesus didn’t stay dead.
He rose again.
And in rising, He did more than inspire us.
He invited us.
Easter is an invitation—not just to believe something, but to be transformed by someone.
We read from Romans 6:1–11, where Paul reminds us that we were not just forgiven because of Jesus' death—we’re called to participate in it. We die to our old selves and are raised to walk in newness of life (Romans 6:4). That resurrection isn’t just a historical event. It’s a current invitation.
“Jesus on the cross was the beginning of an invitation. The resurrection was Him signing it and sending it.”
Too often, we come to church out of obligation or tradition. But Jesus doesn’t ask for tradition—He invites transformation. He invites belief. Real belief. Not just intellectual agreement but heart-level belief (Romans 10:10), the kind that redirects your life.
And belief starts in the heart—Proverbs 4:23 tells us to guard it, because everything we do flows from it.
How Belief Is Formed
We talked about the psychology of belief—how our experiences, environments, and emotions shape what we believe about God, ourselves, and others. But if those beliefs contradict the Word of God, we’re invited to trade them in.
Transformation begins when we stop reinterpreting Jesus to fit our beliefs… and let Him rewrite what we believe.
What Do You Believe?
Do you believe Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life?
Do you believe that transformation is possible—not just for someone else, but for you?
Do you believe that your story doesn’t have to be dictated by past patterns, generational curses, or cultural norms?
Because if you do, you’ve already started walking toward the empty tomb—and away from the grave.
Your Invitation
At the end of our service, we invited everyone to write down old belief systems—lies they believed about God, others, or themselves—and lay them at the cross.
You can still do this.
