Men's Bible Study: Ephesians

Paul's reminder of our identity in Christ...

Follow Dr. Jeremiah through the letter of Ephesians in a chapter-by-chapter study that will help you understand what it meant to the people at the time it was written, and what it means to Christians today.

Ephesus was located in a region where Christianity and pagan religions were clashing. However, the apostle Paul saw an opportunity to advance the kingdom of God. In the letter to the Ephesians, Paul walks believers through their spiritual inheritance in Christ. This inheritance moves them from death to life and into God's family—something so much better than anything they had in their former lives. Because of this, they need to "walk worthy of their calling," understand and use their spiritual gifts, and put on the armor of God.

Each of this study's twelve lessons is clearly organized to include:

  • Getting Started: An opening question to introduce you to the lesson.

  • Setting the Stage: A short reflection to explain the context of the study.

  • Exploring the Text: The Scripture reading for the lesson with related study questions.

  • Reviewing the Story: Questions to help you identify key points in the reading.

  • Applying the Message: Questions to help you apply the key ideas to their lives.

  • Reflecting on the Meaning: A closing reflection on the key teachings in the lesson.

Want a book? No need to order one, they're available at the class for $6/ea.

Who am I? The question of identity is always in the back of our minds, and it’s currently at the forefront of social conversations. But the first question we need to ask is: Who is God? Then we can begin to consider, And who am I in light of who He is? In his letter to the Ephesians, Paul describes God as a merciful and forgiving Father who unites us in Christ and empowers us to live by the Spirit. We’re adopted children and fellow citizens with the saints because of God’s loving pursuit on our behalf.

In this 7-session study, Bible teachers, authors, and friends Jackie Hill Perry, Jasmine Holmes, and Melissa Kruger walk through the book of Ephesians, examining the invaluable truths Paul’s letter holds for us today. Along the way, they’ll help us understand the riches of our inheritance as daughters of our heavenly Father, as well as what it means to walk in a manner worthy of our calling.

Baptism Celebration & Child Dedication

Acts 19:4-5 says:

Paul said, “John’s baptism called for repentance from sin. But John himself told the people to believe in the one who would come later, meaning Jesus.” As soon as they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

Baptism does not save us. You can only be saved by faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. But God designed our journey of faith so that when we put our faith in Christ, one of the next steps we take is making a public statement of our faith and celebrating the new life He has given us, through baptism.

Letter to the American Church - Community Movie

📅 Community Movie Night Invitation!

We are excited to invite you to join us for a special movie night featuring "Letter to the American Church," a powerful film adaptation of Eric Metaxas’ best-selling book. This 60-minute film will be followed by a 20-30 minute discussion, where we’ll dive into the urgent message it brings for today’s church.

What’s it about? The movie draws parallels between the early 1930s in Nazi Germany and today’s America, where cultural Marxism and totalitarian regimes are on the rise. It calls on the church to wake up and speak out against the evil manifesting in our country. The film features Eric Metaxas alongside leading conservative voices, offering practical ways we can turn back to freedom, liberty, and ultimately, God.

🕒 Date and Time: Nov 1, 2024 | Doors Open at 6PM, Movie begins at 6:30PM
📍 Location: Center City Church (Main Auditorium)
🎥 Kid-friendly movie: To help make this a family evening, we’ll also have a kid-friendly movie showing in a different part of the building.

Please Register here so we know how many people to plan for!

This is going to be an eye-opening and impactful evening. Let’s come together as a community and make a plan to stand strong in our faith!
